battery use info

hi folks,
this is a series short posts on RC Batteries , more specifically which of the ones i have used are good, bad and just plain shameful, this blog should be taken as what it is , just one guys experience of certain batteries , i will also post any oddities or peculiarities of buying them too , i say this as i just got a turnigy pack from hobby king , on the back of the latest turnigy packs and all the other batteries they sell) there is a bar code with the word WARRANTY written above it as in the pic above , according to the HK web site info you only have 24HOURS after receipt of the Battery to input the code or the warranty wont be honoured .this applies to all batteries you receive with this new label, i didn't realise this and only noticed as i had logged into my account to check another order.

as for the battery quality , really very nice , i simply cant say anything bad about it, the 4mm sockets are nice and deep to prevent any chance of exposed 4mm plugs and potential short circuit, the case work is of high quality and all the seams are very neat and clean. all the info on charge rates and discharge rating are present. as is the roar legal sticker and a very high quality turnigy hologram ,far better and more 3D than the one on my bank and credit cards!! look out for this as it will be difficult to copy easily!
i have only done two runs with it so far , performance is great in my 2wd buggy's,, one has 60A yeah Racing speedo and 7.5t trinity duo 2 motor , final reduction is around 7.5:1, the other a castle sidewinder sv2 and turnigy trackstar 8.5(amazing motors!!) both motors are set to 0deg timing and both speedo's are set to full power but with a 10% punch reduction, essential to stop the buggy's wheely'ing everywhere, .
the pack got a little  warm but well below tolerance, it gave great punch and excellent sustained voltage and current.
i always add a bit or red paint to denote polarity , better safe than hot and sorry!!
one thing i have noticed is these battery packs show very little voltage sag , something that i found with earlier li-po packs from other manufacturers , max amps batteries were my favourite previously and the staff were awesome to deal with but they were overkill for the application and very expensive ! this pack out performs the 'old' max amps packs , it was a much earlier generation of li-po cell though, and i would reckon that their latest packs will be very good too, li-po technology is coming on leap and bounds!
but, considering the price of the turnigy and the amazing performance they give i think these will be my preferred packs for the time being ,
i plan on going 1:12th racing this winter and will get some 1s turnigy packs for the job and will give my thoughts on those too,
i will report more on the performance of these batteries as i give them more use.
